NBA Scores and Recaps December 8, 2010

Here are the NBA games for Wed. December 8. There are 11 games total on the schedule. Coverage was limited last night. Sorry about that.

Boston Celtics 105 Denver Nuggets 89 FINAL SCORE

Boston was 16-4 coming into the game and Denver was sitting at 13-7. Boston had been hot lately and their game against the Nuggets was no different as Boston comes out on the winning side of a 105-89 victory over Denver. From the opening tipoff Boston got the best of Denver in the first half and the Celtics went into the locker room at halftime with a 59-52 lead. Boston continued their solid play in the second half to secure the win.

Ray Allen led the Celtics with 28 points scored and Ty Lawson led Denver with 24 points scored.


Chicago Bulls 88 Cleveland Cavaliers 83 FINAL SCORE

Surprisingly the Cleveland Cavaliers actually hung with a team beyond the first quarter. But it wasn't enough as the Cavs lost their sixth straight game by a final score of 88-83 to the Chicago Bulls, who improved their record to 12-8 as they stay in first place in the Eastern Conference Central Division. They Bulls had a 21-15 lead after the first quarter. Cleveland nibbled away at the Bulls in the second quarter to come back and actually take the lead at 35-33. However the lead was short lived for the Cavs. With about 1:30 left on the clock before halftime, Chicago rattled off 8 straight points to retake the lead and head into halftime with a 41-35 lead.

Cleveland came out gunning in the second half and outscored Chicago 33-19 in the 3rd quarter to take a 68-60 lead. The Bulls got the best of the Cavs in the fourth quarter outscoring the wine and gold by a score of 28-15. The Cavs were still in it though in the closing minute of the game. With 26 seconds left in the game the Cavs were barely holding on to a 1 point lead. Derrick Rose then put in a basket with 19 seconds left. He was fouled on the play and converted the free throw to make it an 85-83 Bulls lead. The Cavs brought the ball down and had 2 shots at the basket. Mo Williams missed and then Daniel Gibson grabbed the rebound and missed his shot from under the basket. The Cavs were forced to foul the rest of the way. Joakim Noah hit 2 free throws and Ronnie Brewer made 1 of 2 free throws to make it an 88-83 Chicago Bulls win over the Cavs.

Derrick Rose led the Bulls in scoring with 29 points abd Joakim Noah grabbed 14 rebounds in the winning effort. Antawn Jamison led the Cavs in scoring with 21 points.

New York Knicks 113 Toronto Raptors 110 FINAL SCORE

This was a fairly even game until late in the first quarter when the Raptors got ahead of the Knicks. The score was tied at 26-26 with just over a minute left in the first quarter. That's when Toronto started a scoring run and pulled away from the Knicks in the to take a 12 point lead in the second quarter. However, that lead dwindled as the Knicks battled back. After consecutive 3 pointers by Wilson Chandler and Raymond Felton and a basket by Amare Stoudemire for New York, Andrea Bargnani hit a 3 pointer for Toronto to make it a 56-52 Raptors lead. From that point on for the rest of the first half New York outscored Toronto 7-1. Heading into halftime New York fought back to take a 59-57 lead over the Raptors.

New Orleans Hornets 93 Detroit Piston 74 FINAL SCORE

The Hornets had a halftime lead of 44-34 over the Pistons and put in an equally impressive second half to get the win over Indiana. David West led the Hornets with 25 points scored and Ben Gordon led Detroit with 19 points scored.

Milwaukee Bucks 97 Indiana Pacers 95 FINAL SCORE

Milwaukee led the Pacers 56-48 at halftime and was able to hold off Indiana in the second half to get the win. Bradon Jennings scored 22 points for Milwaukee and Danny Granger scored 26 points for the Pacers.

Oklahoma City Thunder 111 Minnesota Timberwolves 103 FINAL SCORE

Minnesota is led 64-53 at halftime over the Thunder, but Oklahoma City came back to get the win. Kevin Durant had a solid night for Oklahoma City scoring 30 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and getting 6 assists. Michael Beasley scored 26 points for the TWolves.

San Antonio Spurs 111 Golden State Warriors 94 FINAL SCORE

The Spurs beat Golden State to get the win and with a record of 18-3 have the best start in franchise history. Tony Parker led San Antonio with 19 points scored and Reggie Williams led the Warriors with 34 points scored.

Memphis Grizzlies 104 Phoenix Suns 98 FINAL SCORE

The Memphis Grizzlies came out of Phonenix with an overtime win fueled by Zach Robinson, who tossed in 34 points and grabbed 17 rebounds for Memphis.

Miami Heat 111 Utah Jazz 98 FINAL SCOR E

Miami beat Utah for their 6th straight win and are looking like they are starting to hit their stride and gel as a team after a shaky start to the season. Utah had the better record of the two teams coming into the game. LeBron James led the Heat in scoring with 33 points scored. Dwyane Wade had 26 points, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 16 points, and Chris Bosh had 16 points. Al Jefferson scored 25 points for the Jazz.

Sacramento Kings 116 Washington Wizards 91 FINAL SCORE

Beno Udrih had 23 points scored and was 1 of 6 players to hit double digits in scoring for the Kings in their win over the Wizards, who were led in scoring by Al Thornton with 20 points in the losing effort.

Los Angeles Lakers 87 Los Angeles Clippers 86 FINAL SCORE

Kobe Bryant scored 24 points for the Lakers as their barely knocked off the Clippers by a point to get the win. Eric Gordon scored 24 points for the Clippers. This game came down to the wire. The Clippers had a 5 point lead in the 4th quarter but watched it slip away as the Lakers "clipped" away at the lead. The Clippers were holding on by a score of 86-85 with 15 seconds left in the game and it came down to the final play of the game when Derek Fisher hit a layup at the buzzer to give the Lakers the win.
